To extend the life of your automobile tires, regular tire maintenance is essential.
Tire Pressure
One of the most important steps is maintaining proper tire pressure. Under-inflated or over-inflated tires wear unevenly and can reduce their lifespan. Check your tire pressure at least once a month using a reliable gauge and adjust it according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, usually found on the door frame or in your owner’s manual. Not sure how to do this? Stop by our tire shop and we’ll help!
Alignment & Balance
Another key factor in tire longevity is ensuring your tires are properly aligned and balanced. Misalignment can cause your tires to wear unevenly, while unbalanced tires may lead to vibrations and excessive wear. Regular alignment checks (typically every 6,000 miles) and balancing during tire installation or rotation will help prevent unnecessary wear on your tires. When you get your new tires from us, we’ll be sure to do this for you.
Tire Rotation
Rotating your tires regularly ensures even wear. Since the front and rear tires wear at different rates due to differences in weight distribution and driving patterns, rotating the tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles can help balance this wear. This simple maintenance step can significantly extend the life of your tires and improve overall vehicle performance. Again, we’ll be glad to help with this. It’s important to us to keep our customers safely on the roads!
